How to turn on Two-Factor Authentication in SmartHub
Adding two-factor authentication (2FA) gives your account an extra layer of security. Each time you log in, you’ll enter a special code sent to your phone or email.
Step 1: Log in to your SmartHub account
Step 2: Click on Settings and then Two-Factor Authentication on the left hand side of the screen.
Step 3: Click on the box for Enable Two-Factor Authentication.
Step 4: Choose How You Want to Receive Your Code
Select one of the following options:
- Email: Enter your email address. You’ll receive a unique code by email each time you log in.
- Text Message: Enter your mobile phone number. A code will be sent to you by text each time you log in.
- Authenticator App: Use an app like Google Authenticator. Scan the QR code shown on the screen. The app will generate a new code each time you log in.
Step 5: Finish Setup
Follow the prompts to confirm your selection. Once complete, two-factor authentication will be active.
Why Use Two-Factor Authentication?
It helps keep your account safe by requiring both your password and a one-time code to log in.
